Dear Middle School parents,
We are excited about plans for 2010. We want everyone to be connected and involved in our activities, teaching, and overall fellowship. I have observed and learned from others that children imitate their parents and older siblings in attitudes, perspective, vision, and many other characteristics we may not be aware of. We hope to generate a culture of fun, Bible based teaching, and Christ centered friendship within our group. This will take each parent and teacher willing to give and receive input from others.
Goals
- To help you teach your child about God and to foster a relationship with Him
- To help foster positive peer and mentoring relationships.
- Bring other friends and families into the church.
Expectations for Middle Schoolers
- Obey and respect teachers and chaperones.
- Respect other children.
Expectations for Parents
- Encourage your child in actions and heart to participate in class and activities .
- Ask your child what they are learning in class. Obey Deuteronomy 6.
- Volunteer to help with class and/or activities.
- Encourage your child to develop friendships in the church- peer and mentors.
- Feel free to communicate concerns, needs and ideas to lead teachers and be eager to accept input/advice from others regarding your child.
Sunday Classes
- Every child must be signed in by their parent/guardian.
- We begin signing in around 9:30 a.m. in the foyer as the Middle Schoolers sit in the back of the sanctuary. They are expected to participate in singing, welcome, communion, and contribution. We then will exit to the classroom for a lesson until the children are signed out.
- If you arrive after service has begun, sign your child in on the sign-in sheet on the table in the foyer, and escort them into the sanctuary, having them sit with our group in the back.
We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us!

12 Things Every Parent Needs to Know
PRINCIPLES, ATTITUDES AND STRATEGIES
1) GOD MUST COME FIRST Matt. 22:37-40/Matt. 10:34-39
-not wife, kids or the church
2) A GREAT MARRIAGE COMES NEXT Prov. 20:7/ Psalm 127
The groups are not about fixing your kids. Fix mom and Dad and the kids will be fine. Concentrating on having a great marriage is the best thing you can do for your kids.
3) OUR KIDS HAVE A CHOICE Luke 18:16/ Prov. 22:6
You can't make your kids become Christians. They have to want it for themselves. But you can and MUST set them up to win. Make it their best choice.
Train them in ‘their own way.' - discover their ‘bent.' Find their ‘sweet spot.'
